THE FOLLOWING ARE ACTUAL STATEMENTS BY PEOPLE IN EUROPE ON THE MUSLIM WORLD AND IT’S KILLING, BOMBING, AND RIOTING!!!! (Read it, quite revealing!)
Isn't it ironic that the pope makes reference to a medieval quotation linking islam to violence and the reaction in the Muslim world is to torch a half dozen churches, go ape in the streets, kill a nun, call for the pope to be executed and warn those of us in the west to convert or face the sword. Yet they claim to be a peaceful religion. It would appear the pope wasn't too far off the mark
Pope Benedict XVI was merely quoting a source whilst giving a scholarly lecture.
Unfortunately, the fascist Islamic crowd seems to have a serious collective case of insecurity coupled with a lack of cultural self-control.
And to make matters worse many Euro weenie Liberals are aiding, abetting and encouraging the Islamic display of hysterical violence.
It's high time the world look very closely at the insanity of a culture, which erupts in violent AND DEADLY demonstrations over the publishing of cartoons by a Danish newspaper and a legitimate display of free speech by his Holiness.
NOW is the time to recognize that an evil and malevolent religious culture does exist and is determined to subjugate, eradicate and exterminate ALL infidels! ALAS, THAT MEANS YOU GANG!
Absolutely Not! If anything a far harsher critique would be the most accurate depiction of Islam, it is as warranted as it is curiously missing from this dialogue. We should merely speak the honest truth and boldly reveal Islam's Mt. Everest sized pile of dirty laundry to the world as progressive secularists have abundantly done to Christianity for decades now, yet the progressives are dead silent on Islam's brutal and abundantly ongoing savage crimes, Why?
We should accurately depict how shabbily Islamic Law treats women, minorities, gays, and people of other faiths worldwide. Should freely reveal the fact that wherever Islam prevails world-wide the resident culture stagnates, talents wasted, populations repressed and sometimes even exterminated.
For the Pope to apologize for (albeit a bit awkwardly) telling the truth, is to show that the West bows to Islam out of deep fear, or perhaps is silenced out of deep self-hatred, that ever excessive Western guilt trip undermining us. Neither of these impulses by the West will produce harmony between the Islamic world and the progressive West, it will instead make the progressive West literally a slave to Islam eventually, all too many in the West are rhetorically and philosophically slaves already, a few fanatical Muslim street mobs demand an apology from a half a world away and instantly even the Pope leaps to offer an apology? Sad.
Show some backbone progressive Westerners, before you wind up on shackles for your submissiveness. The Islamic world needs a progressive reformation, a cultural renaissance, it needs to elevate itself out of the dark ages and (for once) take responsibility for the terrorism, slaughter, repression and general mayhem done world-wide in its name, the Christians have done this sort of contrition abundantly for decades, Muslims never have, they've never had to. Muslim contrition will Never happen as long as outsiders are so PC weak they can't even honestly talk about something that's as plain as day! If we merely had the courage to use our Western freedoms boldly, speak the truth about Islam's multitude of horrid qualities, and demand real reform of Muslims, the rhetorical house of cards of the Jihadist will eventually fall, but if we continue to be silent, WE fall.
Call me cynical. The protests take the heat off the governments in the countries they occurred in. If you care to look at any of the places the "riots" occurred in high unemployment, huge population growth, and inept/corrupt government. Looking for grievance against the Christian west is easier than getting off your ass and improving quality of life and governance.
I wish the legacy media would stop telling us that the pope apologized. The word the Pope used was "rammaricato" which I'm told is more appropriately translated as chagrined. Type define: chagrined into Goggle and up pops "was embarrassed by her child's tantrums" as an example of the shade of meaning of that word. Fits very well too. Not only should the Pope not apologize he should tell those people engaging in tantrums to grow up. Possibly reinforce the message with a "powerful slap". Of the intellectual kind, of course
I'm not going to go in today to the evils of Islam. Just put it like this a cult that encourages its adherents to engage in murder and mayhem didn't come from G-d and that we can expect its "martyrs" to receive the attention of 72 virgins all right for all eternity. It's just that the virgins are likely to have long scaly tails with spikes, 6 inch claws, teeth like razors and breath that would blister paint
What about a real outrage. The Sudanese governments pogrom against its black Muslim citizens in Darfur. Not too much noise coming from the aggrieved windbags about this REAL outrage
Of course not. In the west we have free speech in the east they have a lot of misery under intolerant governments and a brutally repressive religion. I saw the "Cult of the Suicide Bomber II" last night on Ch4 and noted the presenter’s analysis that a lot of the female bombers are from poor disadvantaged areas with personal issues and troubles. I don't like religions. Old purple socks has the right to free speech and should not have cowed to the "victims" as a lot of Muslims in the east "seem" to be. Anyway it's true; the armies of Islam in the past used the sword to convert people, so it's better to tell the truth than to lie according to the Muslim & Catholic religions!!
The same question in 5 days! Freedom of speech is fundamental European value, if those Muslims cannot accept that they should defend the right of those who say things that they disagree with, they have no right to come to Europe. It is really frightening that Turkey is seriously considered a candidate for EU membership with the prospect of mass migration of millions with fundamentally alien values (controversy over this is yet another example. They further would wish to impose their values on others
Between their over the top reaction to the popes speech and similar reaction to the Danish cartoons, they aren't doing their brothers in Turkey any favors in their bid to join the EU. The Muslim community doesn’t appear to be able to conduct themselves rationally
Anyway what has he to apologize for? The spoke that "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." is a literal objective historical truth. One, incidentally, that I pointed out on this BB about two weeks ago - before the Pope spoke. Any of you been to Izmir? al those ruins are not Turkish they are Greek. Greeks lived there since before Thermopylae until 1922. At which point the Turks massacred 80% of them and drove the rest out of the country.
Seeing as PP will manage to get Dafur into the topic latest news from the Afghan Crusade kind of puts the calls for an invasion of Sudan in context.
Since the invasion of Iraq 3 years ago we have seen the US military pinned down in their bases in Iraq, all their goals abandoned; the mighty Israeli Army, supplied to overflowing with all the weaponry the West could rush to it humiliated; and now we have NATO facing outright defeat in Afghanistan.
What, exactly, is it going to take the Zionist Neo-Cons and their allies, the "Liberal" Neo-Imperialists to get the picture?
The Anglo sphere cannot achieve a military victory over 1.5 billion Muslims (partly backed by Russia/China) and occupy their land.
Ratzi is acting as an agent provocateur, trying to get the vast majority of Westerners who are not signed up to the Crusade worked up. Won't work of course.
As Head of a temporal State as well as a spiritual One His Holiness has a duty of care to be a diplomatic custodian of "Western" "values". If how he's perceived by the rather large amount of those with other values is negatively affected by not only what he says, but how it is said and how it's received, it doesn't reflect well either on him or the values of which oh around a billion people would say they were theirs also.

I suspect the real reason for the roaring is the statement that "Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats". The ones in the Black Turbans know well that if that becomes the rule that Islam will disappear from the Earth in 50-100 years. And that family is not going to see its lucrative business disappear like that after 1400 good profitable years.
The closest parallel I can find for Islam is Aum Shinrikyo. And, like them, it should be treated as a criminal conspiracy. and would be by all reasonable people. Which is why we're having all the anti-reason leaping and roaring like cut calves. Of course.
The Pontiff *did not* apologize. He merely voiced his recognition of the primitively reactionary backlash in the Muslim world
The speech he made wasn't widely translated so a lot of the crowd baying for his blood didn't know what he had actually said. But then again, they're Muslims - any excuse to go off in a vicious rage. Even after he apologized, they showed their true form by continuing to be as militant as ever and the political leaders seemed to be miffed as well. Their religion seems to be entirely based on viciousness, violence, anger and punishment (whether deserved or not) instead of love, forgiveness and unity. Could you imagine a whole bunch of Catholics taking to the streets and burning dummies over someone quoting some old Muslim leader saying something negative about the Spanish inquisition? Madness! Maybe he should have known better, but I'd say he was genuinely trying to get some calm as opposed to stirring it up.
NOW THAT YOU HAVE READ ALL THESE COMMENTS FROM ‘REAL’ PEOPLE IN EUROPE, YOU CAN GET A PRETTY GOOD IDEA OF THEIR REACTION!
