ESPERANTO……..
The international language, spoken through out the world!
Mr. Tim Morley brought up the subject about Esperanto in a comment he wrote about our entry on Latin. We were happy to see Mr. Morley’s remarks, since I am the official representative for Esperanto in Belize. We shall therefore be opening a series of entries here on the subject of Esperanto.
Dorothy Henderson wrote in “Creative Living” the following:
“Strange is it not that when so much stress is placed on the fact that human beings belong to one great family, that very little thought has been given to a common language? The first thing that happens to every family unit in every land is that the children of that family all must learn to speak the same language, so that mother, father, sisters, and brothers can understand what others are saying. If this makes sense for the family of individuals, why doesn’t it make sense for the family of nations?”
Esperanto is a scientifically constructed language made from the best elements of the most important tongues of the world. It is so streamlined that it may be learned in only one-tenth of the time required for learning a national language. The vocabulary is as international and logical as possible. English-speaking people recognize at sight more than 70% of the words. If you would like to try it, we can help you and so can Mr. Morley
