NO ONE GOES TO HELL????

I wonder how many times some of you have heard a priest tell his people: “God’s love is unconditional. God loves you just the way you are, faults and all. You don’t have to jump through hoops to please God. Just accept the fact that God accepts you.” The unspoken message is that you don’t have to repent of your sins to find favor with God. Now the logical conclusion of that false talk is that no one goes to hell.

Of course since Vatican II the Catholic Church has largely avoided speaking of fire and brimstone, has been preaching that “God’s love is unconditional.”  The idea that is sinking in from “this” kind of “talk” is the false doctrine of universal salvation – which means EVERYONE goes to Heaven!! If THIS is what is being taught in the Catholic Church today, as it is in many other churches, then the impression will sink in that if you do accept the idea that ‘everyone’ goes to Heaven, you would understand that you don’t need to go to church anymore. You can do something else on Sunday mornings (of course there are always some people who have nothing else to do). And you won’t need to give any of your hard-earned money to the pastor. You can now spend it all on yourself. After all, EVERYONE goes to heaven, so no need to pray or any thing like that.

The effects are already being felt as attendance at Mass on Sunday, or any other day has fallen to dangerous lows.

Perhaps what we are facing here is teaching that is going wrong.

Parts of the Catholic Church have fallen away from the Faith in the past. It can and IS happening again!

Funny, because I thought that what you thought was being taught in Catholic churches is what is being taught (say that 10 times-) in born-again churches, where what matters is faith alone, as per Luther, in reaction and protest of the Catholic Church's teachings on heaven, hell, and purgatory. The Catholic Church remains consistent in its teachings, will not relax on its views on certain matters like abortion or homosexuality or divorce, to the annoyance of other Christians, and is not about to change its views on hell, the need for works evidencing faith, the need for repentance (what do you think w go to confession for?) and the necessity of righteous living. So speaking as a devout Roman Catholic, I say... facetiously, mind... go to hell... because you're wrong.
